Lady Sandel

“The Lady Sandel” was built at Glasgow in 1960 for service on Loch Lomond. In 1964 she saw service on the River Bann briefly as “Maid of Bann” before moving to Poole in Dorset where she was known as “Edward Allan John”. She was sold on to new owners on the Thames in London before eventually moving to the River Deben in Suffolk.
The vessel is a 50 foot, fully-enclosed waterbus capable of accommodating up to 60 passengers in her spacious saloon. With excellent all-round vision the craft provides a warm, dry and stable platform to view the natural beauty of one of Ulster“s finest rivers. Equipped with an impressive array of safety features, and meeting stringent Government regulations, the craft is crewed by professionals who are keen to ensure your safety and enjoyment whilst afloat. Fitted with a snack bar, folding tables, hot water and toilet facilities the vessel is available for private charter and can operate from a variety of jetties along the River Bann by prior arrangement. A 240 volt GenSet permits the use of audio-visual and musical equipment in addition to the vessel“s own PA and CD music system.

Purchased at Woodbridge, Suffolk in 2006 by River Bann Cruises the vessel was transported to Northern Ireland for service on the River Bann at Coleraine. She was renamed in honour of the Norman family who held lands in the Coleraine area during the 13th Century.

The vessel is 16.5 metres in length, 5 metres beam and has a draft of 1 metre. She is 21 tonnes displacement and is powered by a 150 HP Ford Sabre diesel engine which gives a top speed of around 8 knots.
